Zoe is a six year old 14.3 H black/white pinto mare. She was bought at auction from the "kill" pen to keep her from slaughter and to help her have a good life. We have had her evaluated by our veterinarian for a back injury to see if we can improve her health. She bridles, saddles, stands for farrier quietly. She seems to have a painful point on her back that makes her uncomfortable with a saddle, X-rays showed nothing significant. A massage therapist and chiropractor are working with her to see if we can make a difference. Volunteers have her on a rehab program to strengthen her back. Everyone is thinking she will be fine in time. Zoe is lunging quietly with tack on, in circles and over cavalettis. But at this time we are saying she is a companion horse. Zoe is a sweet, smart horse, up on vaccines, worming and farrier. She deserves a loving home with someone who can work with her to meet her potential. Adoption must be within 2 hours of Lima, NY. Zoe is very a quick learner. Non-refundable Adoption donation is $100 within two hours of Lima, NY. Zoe must be returned to Begin Again Horse Rescue if she doesn't work out. At this time we are saying that she is a great companion horse.
